Update: Covington Park Playground Reaches $700,000 Goal!

The Friends of the Covington City Park are a local group of citizens that have been working diligently on their plans to replace the ageing playground equipment in the City Park with a state-of-the-art destination playground.  They have already raised $700,000.  A ground breaking ceremony took place on April 22 and playground is projected to be completed by Fall 2018.

Linda McGurk with the Friends group states, “The playground will feature a treehouse, a splash pad, a parkour course, a butterfly garden, and a sand and water play area, as well as traditional playground equipment like swings and slides, the new playground will be completely unique for this part of Indiana.”

Plans also include a 6’ trike path, outdoor fitness equipment (for active attendees to enjoy), a family restroom, and a covered picnic area.
