Survey Opportunity!

Purdue University, Ivy Tech, and local partners such as the Western Indiana Community Foundation were awarded a nearly $40 million grant from Lilly Endowment, for the Wabash Heartland Innovation Network (WHIN). WHIN is comprised of 10 counties surrounding the Wabash River (Cass, Carroll, Clinton, Benton, Fountain, Montgomery, Pulaski, Tippecanoe, Warren and White).  This grant will be used to fund three initiatives of the organization: next generation manufacturing, digital agriculture and a regional cultivation fund.

To begin, WHIN is focusing on the regional cultivation fund consisting of resources that will be distributed as regional priorities emerge. The fund will be used on projects that increase education, vitality and connectivity.  In order to gauge priorities in those areas, WHIN is asking residents of the 10-county region to fill out a place-making survey. The responses will help guide the selection of projects.  If you live or work in the region, please take a moment to fill out the survey at the link below.

4-H Fairgrounds Partners with Community Foundation

Western Indiana Community Foundation is pleased to announce its partnership with the Fountain County 4-H Council.

According to Dale White, CEO of the Foundation says, “The 4-H Council has established a pass-thru fund with the Community Foundation for the purpose of making improvements to the community building at the Fountain County 4-H Fairgrounds.  Members of the Council have recently begun to raise funds to upgrade the restrooms, refresh parts of the concession – kitchen area and make other updates to the building.  On the exterior they hope to improve the drainage and expand the parking area.  The Foundation will be processing all donations for this project.”

Donations may be made on the Donate Here! link on this page or mailed to Western Indiana Community Foundation, ATTN: 4-H Fairgrounds – Capital Improvement Fund, PO Box 175, Covington, IN 47932.
